CNSP is seeking a Software Application Developer, specializing in JAVA, to be responsible for design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, integration, and implementation of enterprise software applications.


  • Support the continued development of the Coast Guard’s CG-LIMS Surface Technical Information Portal (STIP), providing additional enhancements and increased functionality.
  • Consult with the customer and provide advice on development policy, planning, and implementation.
  • Requires the ability to gain a high degree of system-specific knowledge and a background in technologies currently incorporated.
  • Develop software solutions that operate with relational databases using object-relational mapping.
  • Develop user interfaces that adhere to the look-and-feel of the present application.
  • Develop and format customized data reports.
  • Follow documented software development standards and approaches.
  • Perform unit testing of all work.
  • Support the Government Lead in providing training to staff on any pertinent topics. 





High School Diploma required.

Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology field (MIS, CIS, CS, or Engineering) is highly desired.

Prefer five or more years of experience in software development and systems analysis including at least 3 years developing web applications in a Java EE architecture.

System Administration experience preferred.


  • Essential Skills and Tools: Java EE environment [Prime Faces, Java Server Faces, Entity Beans, Java Persistence API, EJBs], Subversion, SQL Developer/Toad, NetBeans IDE, WebLogic 12c server, Oracle 12c database, Oracle Web Center Content.
  • Language proficiencies: JAVA, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, HTML.
  • Candidate should have experience with defining and delivering enterprise integration solutions for large organizations and working with senior level business leaders.
  • Familiarity with Jira or an agile development process is desired.
  • Proficiency in WebCenter Content implementation is highly desired.



This work is in an office environment with combined military, federal, and contracted personnel.

May be required to work more than 40 hours to meet production requirements.
