We are seeking a Java Developer to help support the efforts of the USFWS.

Job Description

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Includes the following:

 

  • Develop, test, implement and maintain web-based application systems
  • Troubleshoot system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve the application
  • Perform routine programming assignments that do not require domain knowledge or experience but do require knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Work directly with senior Team Lead to receive work assignments.

 

 

Supervisory/Management Authority

 

  • This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Four years full time Java development experience in an increasingly responsible position
  • Experience with Web Frameworks (Grails, Spring, Struts preferred)
  • Experience with Object Relational Mapping frameworks (Hibernate, JPA, GORM preferred)
  • Experience with Relational Databases
  • Experience with client side interactivity and design using Javascript, XHTML or HTML5, and CSS (JQuery or Twitter Bootstrap preferred)
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with Angular / React
  • Experience with Linux operating systems preferred
  • Some experience with cloud-based technologies (Amazon AWS preferred)

 

  • BS degree in Computer Science ore related curriculum or equivalent.

  • This position is primarily in a secured federal office setting, a controlled office environment
