Jr. Java Developer/Tester (14913)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Jr. Java Developer/Tester to help support the efforts of the USFWS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Test and monitor web-based application systems
  • Troubleshoot system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve applications
  • Perform routine testing assignments both manual and automatic
  • Translate user stories into test cases to support the development team
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Work directly with senior Team Lead to receive work assignments

Includes the following:

  • Experience with web frameworks
  • Experience with Spring, Grails, and Struts
  • Experience with Object Relational Mapping frameworks (Hibernate, JPA, GORM)
  • Experience with writing and maintaining unit and integration tests
  • Experience with RESTful service architecture and design
  • Experience with client side interactivity and design using JavaScript, XHTML or HTML5, CSS
  • Experience with JQuery, Bootstrap and Angular 2-7 is a plus

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity

Education/Experience

  •  Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related curriculum at an accredited college or university
  •  At least one year of professional programming experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with web development and client-server applications
  • Experience with scripting and automation of tasks
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  •  Ability to Obtain Public Trust Clearance

 

Work Environment:

This position is primarily performed in a federal office setting in a controlled office environment
