The Naval Health Research Center is in need of a Senior Administrative Assistant to aid in their mission.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as Training Coordinator as assigned
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties in support of the Administrative Department and Directorate for Administration at Naval Health Research Center. Provides support and assistance with administrative requirements, functions and taskers
  • Supports the accurate and timely processing of all general administrative requirements
  • Oversees and processes required policies and directives
  • Processes all official correspondence and documents
  • Ensures documents are in prescribed format, reviewed in accordance with set agreement time frame and receive appropriate approval signatures
  • Processes different types of naval correspondence to include but not limited to letters of designation, endorsements, and others as outlined in applicable instructions
  • Assists the Administrative Officer in developing and tracking Operations Target (OPTAR) Budget for the Administrative Department
  • Coordinates with Finance Budget Analysts on ensuring timely and appropriate execution of budget
  • Coordinates scheduling and conduct of Command Orientation Program ensuring each speaker and attendees are notified in advance.
  • Performs administrative support related to military personnel administration
  • Coordinates Command Check-in/out Process
  • Tracks active duty Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) compliance and report updates weekly to the Director for Administration
  • Provide support and assistance on other administrative requirements, to include ensuring sufficient availability of office supplies and performing other general administrative tasks and functions as assigned

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • HS Graduate/Bachelor’s preferred
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience
  • Good command of the English language and composition
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DON Correspondence Manual, Standard Subject Identification Codes, and OPNAV Administrative Manual Resident on Navy instructions preferred
  • Skills in operating a desktop computer, printer, scanner, facsimile, and other office related equipment
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions as assigned, such as software user manuals, correspondence procedures, and different manuals
  • Knowledge of office procedures, filing system and various references and handbooks commonly used by the staff in order to assist with the maintenance of files and/or materials
  • Knowledge of organization and functions sufficient to properly route mail and/or telephone caller to the proper individual(s)
