Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) is seeking Management Analyst 1 (Security Assistant, Visitor Control) to support the efforts at the Joint Staff Security Office in support of Joint Staff Security Office Operations and Activities. Security Assistant shall be experienced in receiving and responding to correspondence; tracking and managing tasks; developing and managing a suspense system;  reviewing documents for completeness, correctness, and accuracy;  returning documents to originator for additional information; contacting originator for clarification of information submitted; requesting additional documents as needed; and submitting appropriate request information.   Experience in Visit Processing, JPAS submitting and receiving Visitor Access Requests (VARS) and PERMCERTS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support JSSO-HR customers by responding to queries, requests for assistance, and providing subject matter expertise.  Provide professional, courteous, timely, and accurate responses to JS customers at all times. 
  • Process incoming and outgoing visit requests, ensuring they are properly downloaded and properly annotated in the SDB; determine personnel eligibility for and issue EACS ID badges to permanently assigned personnel; issue access badges to appropriately cleared visitors; collect and inventory access badges.  Coordinate special security requirements such as badge and escort requirements for numerous VIP visits and large numbers of visitors during conferences and exercises.  Issue badges to eligible personnel and visitors; ensuring badge retrieval and accountability upon check out of JS or completion of event.  Prepare monthly expired contractor visit request reports, prepare monthly expired EACS contractor badge/data base reports and monitor contract expiration dates to ensure consistency of information. 
  • JSSO-HR is responsible for ensuring that personnel and property under the control of JS are protected in accordance with Federal, DOD, and JS directives, and that appropriate security safeguards are in place to protect against loss or damage to property or harm to persons at JS HR facilities. Develop recommendations for Government approval in accordance with the specifications above to update JS PHYSEC and AT/FP policies and procedures. 
  • Assist the ATO (Antiterrorism/Force Protection) in developing AT exercise documentation and perform supporting roles to capture exercise observations.
  • Provide Security Blotters to PHYSEC at the end of daily shift activities at J3/NH-95.

In the event of a facility closure due to a weather or security event, you are considered “Essential Personnel” and should follow Joint Staff guidance announced via local radio and television.

This position does not have supervisory and/or management authority 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates MUST BE US Citizens
  • Candidates must possess an active and current TOP SECRET clearance at the time of their application to the position.
  • High School and/or GED Or 3-5 years of related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities that enable full successful accomplishment of PWS Tasks
  • Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft (MS) Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Office Publisher
  • Must have Visitor Control and Electronic Access Control System (EACS) experience
  • Shall be fluent in the English language and have the ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation
  • Possess thorough knowledge and demonstrated expertise in using computer software in their respective jobs/positions
  • Individuals must possess excellent organizational/communications skills and ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels; ensure that daily administrative documentation is kept concise and complete at all times; and maintain all daily assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office is in a controlled environment with the Joint Military Command
  • Shift hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
