The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a Combat Support Agency supporting the healthcare needs of our warfighters and beneficiaries throughout the Military Health System (MHS). The DHA is embarking on the monumental task of taking over management and oversight of all MHS Direct Care Facilities by October 2018 as mandated in Public Law 114-28, the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act. This transition is to achieve greater standardization of healthcare across the MHS and streamline management of healthcare activities. This new era will require strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, increased knowledge sharing, agility, integration, and continuous improvement to positively influence the success of the current and future health of all stakeholders served.


We are searching for a Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement to support our client.





  • Coordination with internal and external customers, coordination and collaboration of patient safety governance meetings, identification of patient safety issues, and provision of consultative expertise to the Patient Safety Program (PSP) in developing strategic direction.
  • Develop and manage internal communications and external stakeholder engagement across the evolving DHA using a wide range of media platforms.  
  • Develop processes and systems to support effective international external communications plan for stakeholder engagement.
  • Draft and edit content for social media, public announcements, fact sheets, presentations, and associated media and materials.
  • Draft and edit content for articles in technical and general media publications, newsletters, and knowledge and technology transfer platforms.
  • Create summaries and briefings of technical and/or research reports for technical and lay audiences.
  • Maintains strong working relationship with communications teams and a variety of cross-functional groups within the customer organization.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Software

  • Conveys openness to the ideas of others that facilitate the cross-functional creative environment with the stated goal of projecting how those generated ideas may play out across the enterprise to ensure project success and performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, preferably ahead of schedule, across multiple communications and outreach projects simultaneously, prioritizing demands on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.



Education and Experience:


  • A Master’s degree is required.
  • Four (4) to ten (10) years of direct experience with Marketing and Strategic Communications in a medium or large healthcare organization; Defense Health Agency (DHA) experience is preferred.
  • Experience conducting effective technical presentations to client management and professional coordination with a variety of project stakeholders.
  • Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • U.S. Citizenship and DoD government security clearance NACI required.
  • The ability to successfully pass as drug screen and a federal background check is mandatory.
