Position Description

  • Performs limited aspects of technical supply management work including, but not limited to, inventory management, storage management, and property utilization related to local or unique supply activities.
  • Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
  • Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions, but may focus on one Division or Branch.
  • This work may require consideration of program requirements, together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.
  • Requires (a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.


Duties (Required)

  • Operate and maintain local supply store for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations and procedures as set forth by the MDA FDF Administrative Supply Store SOP (standard operating procedures).
  • Verify customer “purchase” eligibility using the consumer’s MDA identification badge or such identification/documentation as approved by the Regional Manager.
  • Accurately process customer purchases and returns using the ARCHIBUS system. 
  • Recommend and encourage substitutions for out-of-stock items.
  • Assist customers in completing Facility Requests (Form 80) for large quantities of supplies or items not listed on the administrative supply stock list.
  • Request out-of-stock items from the local administrative warehouse, or by submitting an Expendable Supplies (EXP) purchase request to the Procurement office.
  • Receive customer excess items and process the items in accordance with Regional Manager guidance.
  • Monitor, order, and replenish stock.
  • Maintain a 15-day level of stock, or as authorized by the Regional Manager.
  • Monitor customer product consumption to establish re-order points and determine supply store stock levels.
  • Communicate recommended stock levels and reorder points based on demand history, projected future demand, and unique MDA requests.
  • Review the authorized administrative supply stock list at least annually and recommend changes to the Regional Manager.
  • Conduct and document full (100%) administrative supply stock inventories as defined by the current contract Performance Work Statement requirement (ex: monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually).
  • Report monthly supply store inventory discrepancies to the Regional Manager.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the Regional Manager. 


Specific Skills and Requirements (Optional)


  • Holds an active DOD Secret level security clearance.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Willing and able to provide excellent customer service to the workforce, keeping a positive attitude, and take pride and ownership of this position.
  • Feels comfortable using a computer to help track inventory levels and transaction history, send/receive emails, and make phone calls.


  • Has worked with the Archibus CAFM computer program (formerly Velocity) in the past, preferably with MDA.
  • Has the ability to work well with others on a daily basis to help ensure that all supply store customer needs are met satisfactorily.
  • Possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, and data interpretation skills.


Education and Experience (Required)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Has 5 or more years of experience in a customer service based field.
  • Has 5 or more years of experience in a logistics based field.
