Technical Writer, Baltimore, MD (ID#14628)

Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) offers federal, state and local agencies a wide range of intelligence, cyber operations and warfighter support services. CNSP focuses on quality performance in the collection and analysis of data, dissemination of useful information, and actionable real-world support to the intelligence and warfighter communities. Services offered by Cherokee Nation Applicants Strategic Programs apply to all national security communities including federal, state and local intelligence communities, the military and law enforcement agencies.            


We are seeking a Technical Writer to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s Surface Forces Logistics Center’s Technical Information Management Branch with providing life cycle management support of technical publications.


Includes the following:

  • Develop, publish, amend, and maintain technical publications used to support the Coast Guard.
  • Attend Meetings and Conferences as directed by the Contracting Officer’s Rep. (COR).
  • Complete other ad-hoc requests for technical data as required.




  • Minimum education requirement of: an Associate's Degree; at least (2-5) years of technical job-related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with working in teams and independently.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications.
  • Experience in writing, editing and managing technical documentation and operator/maintenance manuals for military systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to conceptualize, format, structure, write, edit and finalize technical manuals, orders, specifications, modification work orders, and test plans, procedures and results.


  • Ability to work independently with little oversight by the government under direction of a technical lead in the Technical Information management Branch (TIMB) Visual Information Team.
  • Demonstrate good oral/ written communication skills and organizational abilities.
  • Pass a drug screen and federal background check is mandatory
  • Have the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and obtain a government issued Common Access Card (CAC) to access USCG IT systems and facilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs are required.
