Support USAMRIID as the subject matter expert physician in the field of infectious disease and public health by providing technology based or resident based training and education programs


  • Participate in USAMRIID’s training programs as a Subject Matter Expert to support resident and on-line programs provided to CONUS & OCONUS organizations
  • Assist with writing reports of research activities and results/outcomes for submission to required government organizations and preparing manuscripts of research activities and results/outcomes for publication as assigned by Chief, Division of Medicine
  • Participate in meetings and presentations related to assigned duties and/or work performed
  • Train and assist coworkers and technical staff with special knowledge and skills
  • Provide written summaries, reports, and other documents as needed in support of Division of Medicine
  • Perform duties and responsibilities independently based on broad guidelines and objectives provided by the Government Point of Contact
  • In addition to the above enumerated duties and responsibilities, the candidate may be assigned new duties on an “as needed” basis in conjunction with new programs/projects initiated by the Division of Medicine
  • Required to travel outside of the United States as needed to perform duties in support of USAMRIID’s training & education programs and research projects. Travel – 1 To 10 Nights per Month May Be Required
  • Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance


No supervisory/management authority or describe supervision


  • State medical licensure within the U.S.
  • Board Certification in a Primary Care Specialty including Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine, or Pediatrics with knowledge of adult medicine
  • Experience in a professional position providing guidance and technical expertise in interdisciplinary/multi-service teams of professionals. This experience must include a high level of expertise gained by study and practice in an area such a preventive medicine, public health, travel medicine or other related field and typically be regarded as an expert in their field of medicine
  • The candidate must have or obtain credentialing, which consists of:
    • Copy of Medical License;
    • Documentation of residency and Medical School;
    • Copy of Medical Board Certificates;
    • Letter of Reference from at least 2 previous employers;
    • Listing or set of clinical studies that he or she was assigned as a Sub or Principal Investigator
    • Basic Life Support Certification
    • Advanced Life Support Certificate
  • Required to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport
  • GCP (Good Clinical Practice) trained or be willing to attend GCP training
  • Possess computer skills in the following computer software programs: Microsoft Office/Word and be willing to learn Excel
  • Proven experience meeting deadlines and standards


  • Obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Highly organized self-starter with excellent customer service skills
  • Articulate and confident
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to gather project requirements and expectations for all levels of management to include in the project plan
  • Must be a US Citizen


This position is primarily performed in office space
