SUMMARY

CNMS is recruiting a Training Instructor, who will support the CNMS mission in Mexico City, Mexico providing training programs through performance of a variety training-related function both in an office and/or classroom environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitating in-classroom and hands-on training in accordance with the training plan(s).
  • Assisting the training department’s administrative support such as curriculum development, reviewing and editing training material, reviewing and recording feedback forms, administering & scoring tests, and other administrative supporting task as assigned.
  • Assisting with training logistics support components such as accounting, shipping training supplies from anywhere in Mexico to anywhere in Mexico or to the United States, receiving training materials from anywhere in Mexico to anywhere in Mexico or to the United States, and deploying training material. Assist with other administrative supporting task as assigned.
  • Managing classroom dynamics in an effort to enhance an engaging learning environment. 
  • Resolving routine classroom problems such as lack of engagement, lack of interest, fatigue, and disruptive behavior.
  • Maintaining communication with CNMS Training Management concerning issues with training or personnel issues.
  • Monitoring and evaluating training, providing feedback on needed adjustments, and recommending enhancements by engaging CNMS Training Management.  

 

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position will not have supervisory authority and/or management authority

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • This position is only open to local nationals whom are citizens of Mexico and reside within the country of Mexico.  
  • Candidates must have a college and/or university degree (Licenciatura) from an accredited university/college such as Profesores de Enseñanza Secundaria, Profesores Técnicos de Formación Profesional y/o Técnicos de Formación de empresas.
  • Candidates will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with Mexican labor laws and regulations.
  • All candidates must have at the time of their selection a valid and current Mexican Passport and/or the ability to obtain one.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain proficiency in all facets of assigned work sufficiently to ensure recertification.
  • Available to work various shifts and overtime, as needed.
  • Have at least 4 years of experience utilizing instructional methods to provide formal training or to teach others in prescribed or designated subjects or areas. The experience must have been gained through a training/educational setting where instructional methods utilized on a regular basis to teach/train in a classroom, laboratory, group, or on-the-job setting.  Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Providing instructional guidance for conducting screening (e.g., x-ray, security, industry).
  2. Teaching or instructing in an educational program: Primary/secondary school or undergraduate/graduate (college/university); military installation/academy, or industry establishment.
  3. Establishing or developing training/course materials, aids and devices and evaluation of training results.
  • Selected candidate must successfully complete the required Cherokee Nation Mission Solution (CNMS) Train-the-Trainer course. Selectees must successfully pass this training requirement. Should they are unable to do so their candidacy will be finalized.
  • This position reports to the Program Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Spanish and English (e.g., reading, writing, speaking, listening) – Level 3/3 or at the Native bilingual level. Candidates may present certification of their language skills from an accredited institution and or test results from TOEIC or TOEFL (ITP or IBT).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Selected candidate can work remotely from their home/office, when not providing on-site instruction.
  • Travel within Mexico and to U.S. up to 50% of the time is a requirement of this position. On-site instruction/training will take place in a classroom and/or a controlled office environment)
