Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs is seeking a Travel/Training Specialist to support a contract with the Department of State (DoS) providing Administrative, Program and Services Support.  The position is located at the National Capitol Region (NCR) area and abroad.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate e-country clearances for travelers and travel visa and passports
  • Track travel obligation amounts within GFMS and CFO SharePoint cuff records for reconciliations
  • Assist in running various tracking expense reports for the assigned office
  • Submit training request to training center for processing
  • Receive training requests from division administrators and coordinate payment processing
  • Submit training request to training center for processing or create CMMS requests for Arriba payment for training
  • Ensure training forms are accurate and all signatures are obtained
  • Track the training amount in the corresponding tracking sheet

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • This position will not have supervisory authority.

Education and/or Experience:

  • An Associate’s degree in a Business Administration or a closely related field is required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience within a training administrative environment; preferably with the Dept. of State, Dept. of Justice or the military

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • An Active Secret Clearance required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Working knowledge with SharePoint is a must
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills; both oral and written as required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; to include MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen

  • This is performed in a federally secured office environment.
