Cherokee Nation Technologies (CNT) is seeking a Web Application Developer II to work within Information Technology (IT) and Software Development.

Job Description:

This position requires a full stack developer as well as a technical lead for other developers. Work will be performed in an Agile Framework and a scrum environment. They must work well within a small team as well as independently to ensure tasks are completed within the appropriate time frame. They will participate in daily and weekly stand ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning. Must be comfortable with changing deliverables, meeting deadlines, and working on projects that use a variety of different technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based application systems
  • Full Stack Developer building highly functional and reliable web-based user interfaces
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and develop ways to improve applications
  • Communicate with team members and customers daily through various media (oral, written, electronic)
  • Work in an Agile Framework and Scrum environment while maintaining multiple projects simultaneously within sprints
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
  • Create and manage REST APIs
  • Manipulate, analyze, and ingest various data types
  • Work within a small self-managed team                                                       

Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position does not have management authority.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar field
  • Experience with Hibernate and/or SpringBoot Frameworks
  • Experience with Docker and GitHub
  • Experience with Elastic Search technology
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a full stack developer
  • Minimum of 3 years in developing in object-oriented programming
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing with HTML/CSS/Javascript, Angular, or Angular JS
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Java or like languages
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Linux, Tomcat, and Apache


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Ability to work on a self-managing Agile team
  • Understanding of personal velocity and its impact on project deliverables
  • Create solutions that solve problems based on data analysis, user interviews, and feedback loops
  • Effectively produce full-stack web development with little to no guidance
  • Provide solutions that address usability, utility and functionality
  • Effectively apply the concepts of iterative design and development
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check

Work Environment:

This position is primarily performed in an office environment.
