Cherokee Nation Businesses is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support Military Construction (MILCON) and large repair and modernization (SRM) program management for projects throughout the Pacific.

Candidate will work as part of our company’s on-site engineering team to assist across a wide variety of projects, working directly with clients, experts, and other contractors to proactively develop project documents, provide cost and schedule analysis, investigate and solve problems, track/report project metrics, and communicate effectively throughout the project lifecycle.

Clients include Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), the Air Force Installation Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) Det 2, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) at Hickam AFB, Hawaii (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, JBPHH), and Air Force locations throughout the Pacific.


  • Manage planning and execution tasks for large projects ($5M to $500M); develop and present results of analysis; advise stakeholders and clients (as owner’s representative).
  • Review, analyze, and apply AFIs, UFC, and country-specific codes to design and construction of vertical and horizontal facilities. Work with AFCEC, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) counterparts to gather data, track and report projects, and keep projects on track with cost and schedule.
  • Assist client with data management and reports across the program using existing and new data tools and information systems including ACES, NextGen IT (Tririga), Geobase, MS Excel, MS Project, SharePoint, etc.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.



  • Provide mentorship, peer review assistance, and technical and professional leadership to colleagues.



  • Five-years of relevant experience working with US military/DoD facilities and requirements.
  • Experience managing projects/programs with similar complexity with US Air Force, Army, Navy, or Marine Corps.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Additional desirable experience includes: PMP, experience with Air Force data systems (e.g., Tririga), experience in Hawaii or in the Pacific, or PACES cost estimating.



  • Demonstrated track record of working across disciplines such as contracting, engineering, finance, contractors, and stakeholders so proactively anticipate and solve project issues.
  • Knowledge of construction processes for DoD OCONUS main operating bases.
  • Track record of working collaboratively with clients/customers to identify issues and solve problems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force NACI/SF85 for unescorted access to on-base facilities.
  • Excellent English communication and computer skills.



  • Office environment on US military base (PACAF HQ building).
  • Requires international travel less than 25%.
