SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage Defense Health Agency (DHA) program functions requirements generation to closeout at DHA PM Support, Regional Health Command- Atlantic Ft. Belvoir, VA. This position provides support in management, control, coordination, and execution of projects involving complex and long-term facility Defense Health Agency (DHA) program functions, projects, renovations, modernization, and construction management.  Candidates should be well-rounded, effective communicators able to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews work plans, design documents, and submittals to ensure specification compliance and to investigate existing layouts and conditions, and reports to COR or other appropriate Government officials w/ recommendations for improvement or discussion. Ensures conformance with NFPA codes, JCAHO standards, safety standards, and other agency criteria.
  • Coordinates w/ DHA on site POC for direction on evolving priorities across a multitude of ongoing and active projects throughout Regional Health Command- Atlantic MTFs.
  • Gathering regular updates on status, identifying risks and making recommendations to resolve, adding value to the execution process by providing healthcare construction and operational subject matter expertise.
  • Coordinating and supporting DHA Facility Enterprise project management functions.
  • Executing regional facility program requirements and assisting the MTF Facility Managers in the execution and administrative support required of the various facility projects and facility program requirements at the MTF level.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5-10 years serving as a Project Manager at a DHA Federal facility.
  • Must have minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, JCAHO standards, safety standards, Construction Quality Management.
  • Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for manipulating scheduling data and other project information.
  • Ability to multi-task and support numerous locations and departments with their unique and individual needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance.

Desired:

  • BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or equivalent. 
  • Experience with DHA programs and facilities.
  • Experience with managing medical and laboratory facilities.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT – This job is performed in an office and clinical facility environment.
