SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Project Manager to manage facility projects within a clinical and medical center from requirements generation to closeout at Eisenhower Army Medical Center (EAMC), Ft. Gordon, GA. This position provides support in management, control, coordination, and execution of projects involving complex and long-term clinical projects, renovation, modernization, and construction management.  Candidates should be well-rounded, effective communicators able to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage facility projects from requirements generation to closeout.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports for management review.
  • Conducts field surveys to investigate existing layouts and conditions, and reports to COR or other appropriate Government officials. Ensures conformance with National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) codes, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards, safety standards, and other agency criteria
  • Develops statements/scopes of work with fundable estimates.
  • Manages successful close out through established processes.
  • Plans and estimates projects by analyzing designs for production.
  • Perform daily, monthly and annual scheduled preventative maintenance (PM’s), service and repairs of the facilities mechanical and electrical systems throughout the building.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required; troubleshoot issues to determine cause and solution.
  • Coordinates with facility infection control officers to insure compliance.
  • Coordinates with facility safety officers to implement effective safety policies.
  • Monitors construction contractor quality control activities and makes appropriate recommendations to COR for Government action.
  • Attends and participates in pre-construction, staff, in-progress-reviews, and other project-related meetings, and provides reports to COR or appropriate Government officials.
  • Reviews schedules, work performance quality, safety oversight, coordination effectiveness, and perform documentation reviews for COR for all repair and construction work in progress or in planning stages at above-referenced facility.
  • Attend and participate in facility meetings, to include environment of care, space utilization, and facility update meetings.

 

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

 

None

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5-10 years serving as a Building Engineer or a Facility Project Manager at a Federal facility.
  • Must have minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, JCAHO standards, safety standards, Construction Quality Management.
  • Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for manipulating scheduling data and other project information.
  • Ability to multi-task and support numerous locations and departments with their unique and individual needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance.

Desired:

  • BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or equivalent. 
  • Experience as a facility project manager at a Federal facility.
  • Experience with managing medical and laboratory facilities.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT – This job is performed in an office and clinical facility environment; however, it also requires work around building machinery including electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment.
