CNSP is looking for a Financial Specialist to provide support to the AFSFC, a Primary Subordinate Unit (PSU) of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC). Perform aspects of budget and financial support, including, but not limited to the following: assist with document preparation; contract tracking; tri-annual preparation, and Miscellaneous Obligation/Reimbursement Document (MORD) administrative sorting. Must conform to all Federal, State, local laws and regulations.


Includes the following:

  • Provide administrative assistance with tracking of financial documents such as Purchase Requests (PR), Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPR), contracts, MORDs, Journal Vouchers and other related financial documents.
  • Compile fiscal data from existing Air Force data bases for AFSFC/RM involving obligations, expenses and object class information, narrative information, and budgetary data for reconciling open contracts.
  • Conduct and consolidate accounting data from financial calls such as the tri-annual Review, Monthly MORDs, Dormant Obligations, Open Commitments, and Control Summary Record (CSR) Management.
  • Assist AFSFC/RM in AFSFC meetings including preparation for Financial Working Groups (FWG) and Financial Management Boards (FMB) for final submission by AFSFC Government Finance Chief.
  • Assist AFSFC/RM by working on open contracts from prior year by providing statuses for the AFSFC Government Finance Chief to close contracts.
  • Assist AFSFC/RM on tri-annual review reporting by obtaining applicable reports' statuses to determine needed actions with DFAS or contracting agencies to ensure dormant open documents are being closed in a timely matter by AFSFC Government Finance Chief.
  • Obtain AFSFC Government Finance Chief review of MIPR statuses prior to electronically sending out 30, 60 day letters to vendors to close MIPRs.
  • Provide administrative support such as file plan, drafting FMB minutes, and consolidating major funding drill data requirements from Security Forces Units for final submission by the AFSFC Government Finance Chief into FM systems such as Air Force Budget Execution Analysis Tool (AFBEAT), Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS), and Automated Business Services System (ABSS).
  • Performs other job related duties as required.



  • This position will not have supervisory or management authority



  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • Candidates will have to undergo a US government background investigation and favorably pass a drug screen.
  • Minimum Associate’s degree in business administration, economics, finance or other related field. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business administration, economics, finance, or other related field is highly encouraged.
  • Must be familiar with all financial documents, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes to execute assigned duties in support of the mission, structure, goals, and programs of the AFSFC.
  • Must have knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to force protection support programs.
  • Must have financial certificates for purposes of meeting program objectives.
  • Must have ability to successfully manage multiple budgetary tasks simultaneously. Must have familiarity with Security Forces operational and expeditionary financial requirements.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communications and be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. This includes demonstrated proficiency in creating, reviewing, and editing communications, briefing materials, and other correspondence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.



  • Knowledgeable of and use automated budgetary system(s) and computer generated products in accomplishing budgeting assignments. Contractors must have knowledge of financial systems such as Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS), Commander’s Resources Integration System (CRIS), Automated Business Services System (ABSS), Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), Electronic Document Access (EDA), and Financial Management Suite (FM Suite).
  • Knowledgeable on the administrative actions and process for closing dormant documents such as contracts, MORDs, MIPRs on the reports generated by DFAS, AFIMSC, and the host base budget office.



  • This position is primarily performed in a secured federal and/or military installation office setting, a controlled office environment as well as working outside in a field environment.
