SUMMARY

Under the guidance and mentorship of Sr Recruiters, the Junior Recruiter/Sourcer is responsible for providing full cycle recruiting support, screening, sourcing, and processing of applicants to meet the staffing needs of the company's federal clients.  The position is responsible for attracting talent with a focus on federal government contracting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Responsible for multiple requisitions providing recruiting/sourcing efforts, including, but not limited to advertising, employment fairs, partnerships, correspondence with applicants, and other forms of organizational marketing as related to recruiting.
  • Administers pre-employment screenings, including, but not limited to background checks, reference checks, drug testing, and educational verification.
  • Conducts searches for qualified candidates through ATS, networking, referral ads, internet, and other online sources.
  • Creates and maintains tracking and documenting the process, in order to handle the volume and easily provide current information to hiring managers.
  • Direct Source and prescreen candidates through networking, and referrals.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their business needs and hiring criteria, developing a comprehensive recruiting strategy based on the needs.
  • Act as a recruiting liaison with colleges and vocational schools as assigned.
  • Research various geographic markets to identify recruiting and staffing trends; making strategic staffing recommendations as needed based on findings.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of current trends as related to recruiting, regulations and industry.
  • Conduct phone screens and interviews for applicants.  Schedule and coordinate interviews for managers.
  • Negotiate salaries based upon market or contract based pay levels for candidates' work experience and skill-sets.
  • Ensure that all necessary documents are complete and present prior to on-boarding.
  • Ensure that hiring criteria for open positions are met while upholding the Native American preference or EEO/AA whichever is applicable for the open position being filled.
  • Partners with Cherokee Nation Talent Acquisition  for special projects and recruitment initiatives. 
  • Performs other job related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Manage multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources, or other related field and
  • 2 to 4 years of full cycle recruiting experience or an equivalent combination of formal education and recruiting experience. 
  • ATS candidate tracking experience preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The Jr. Recruiter/Sourcer should be familiar with full-cycle recruiting for a variety of government positions, sourcing for candidates with government clearances, familiar with employment laws and OFFCP compliance.  

  • Experience with social media recruitment methods including a strong presence on LinkedIn.
  • Working knowledge of Monster, CareerBuilder, Indeed, and other related job boards.
  • Excellent written, communication and computer skills including working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.
  • Detail oriented and well organized; ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and participate as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled and professional.
