Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) Developer, Baltimore, MD ID

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) Developer to be responsible for updating, correcting and administration of Coast Guard Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPC) and administration in accordance with Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Development Process Guide CGTO PG-85-00-230-S, dated 11 September 2015.

. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Proficient in the use and inquiry of databases.
    • Proficient in performing independent research using the Internet.
    • Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
    • Above-average writing skills.
    • Technical experience in the operation, repair, and support of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) equipment.
    • Experience validating technical documents and systematically compiling and addressing feedback to address customer and subject matter expert concerns adequately.
    • Experience performing “Planned Maintenance System” (i.e. preventive maintenance) tasks on shipboard equipment
    • Above-average communication skills.
    • Above-average analytical and research skills.
    • Proficient in providing technical guidance to field technicians for MPCs developed; most guidance will be delivered informally via telephone, email, or message.
    • Schedule- and deadline-driven.
 
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
 
None.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is highly desired.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 
    • Proficient in the use of Naval & Electronics Supply Support System (NESSS) and FedLog for parts research
    • Proficient in the use of the web-based Naval Engineering Technical Information Management System (NE- TIMS) tool for accessing drawings and technical publications
    • Proficient in the use of the web-based SFLC Central tool for MPC tasking progress and updates
    • Knowledge of the Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) maintenance procedures and processes
    • Experience developing Maintenance Procedure Cards for the USCG (ideally) or Maintenance Requirements Cards for the Navy
    • Experience using SFLC Central Activities

This work is in an office environment with combined military, federal, and contracted personnel.
