SUMMARY

 

The Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs/Office of Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) requires support services to assist with project and program design, development, and implementation.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct research and analysis on policy and programmatic trends
  • Consolidate volumes of data to draft concise briefing papers, talking points, public affairs documents.
  • Support outreach activities to the U.S. Congress, media and other public stakeholders.
  • Review quarterly reports and grant documents.
  • Assist in program and budget tracking;
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to projects awarded and other assigned tasks in support of U.S. Government foreign policy initiatives.

 

 

EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors or High School Diploma with 1 to 2 years’ related experience
  • PDS III candidate will be mid-level with moderate knowledge of U.S. Government foreign policies
  • PDS III candidate will possess the following skills:
    • Basic interpersonal, writing, organizational skills, as well as
    •  Significant attention to detail
    • Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment
    • Strong writing and decision-making skills, and exhibit organizational awareness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and relevant experience designing and managing activities related to international affairs.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of State structures and processes, including experience working domestically or overseas at a U.S. Embassy or in the Peace Corps.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) and experience in accessing, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programming, is preferred.
  • Experience working with the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region, Iran, other relevant countries and/or relevant language skills, a plus.
