SUMMARY 

Act as a strategic business partner, employee champion and organizational change agent for assigned employee group(s). Craft and implement employee strategies, assess and anticipate business needs and carry out center of expertise (COE) initiatives to achieve goals. Solve complex organizational challenges and develop innovative solutions to support and execute against the organization’s business and human capital strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Consults with business leaders during the strategic planning process and develops human resources initiatives which support business needs.
  • Consults with business leaders, employees and Human Resources (HR) to provide value-added tactical support to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Drives HR initiatives within the organization and acts as a liaison to COEs.
  • Provides guidance and support for an area of specialty (e.g., acquisitions, labor/employee relations, international HR) throughout the business.
  • Provides coaching, counseling and career development guidance to executives, business leaders and employees.
  • Executes against the human capital strategy and people plan in support of assigned employee group.
  • Understands operational goals and objectives of assigned employee group(s) and shares knowledge with COEs in order to produce solutions that address business priorities.
  • Works with COEs to establish and monitor metrics to help drive business performance.
  • Handles employee relations matters for assigned employee group(s), including employee related investigations.
  • Builds productive work relationships with executives, business leaders, employees and co-workers.
  • May serve on cross-functional teams.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

May lead and/or guide the work of other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7 years of progressive human resources and/or organizational development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SPHR or SHRM-SCP certifications preferred. Advanced degree in human resources related field helpful. Project management experience preferred.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: international employment, mergers and acquisitions, labor relations, or human resources in a construction environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Effective written, communication, presentation and computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR principles and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of human capital elements captured within HR technology in order to provide business leaders with relevant information to drive business performance.
  • Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources.
  • Excellent collaboration skills including informing and the ability to flex to support broader business and HR teams, as needed.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Advanced leadership skills.
  • Ability to use data in order to make informed decisions
  • Ability to use data to model alternative solutions.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and advise business leaders and employees including the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Ability to produce results and think strategically.
  • Ability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to set priorities and work in a group environment or independently.
  • Ability to participate in and/or lead a team and set priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Work may require travel, including overnight stays.
